Happy New Year to everyone

2008 heralds the major push towards our target figure for fundraising

January always seems to be a slow month - perhaps people are feeling the financial pinch after Xmas with those dreaded credit card bills popping through the letterbox? 

Behind the scenes, we've been beavering away at organising our Charity Rock and Blues gig for end of April - watch this space for more news soon?

Blimey - things have picked up a pace.... we've contacted the Western Telegraph with a view to publishing a blog on their newspaper website - within minutes of our application we had a reply from Becky Hotchkin asking for more details.  With a little luck and some serious persuasion we hope that at the end of Feb [when our own bikes are out of winter storage] we'll have a great photo opportunity and feature...me + Graham + The Bird and The Blade bikes + Tenby Harbour in the Spring sunshine as a photo backdrop.  If you're reading this Becky... we can be VERY persuasive so lets get the date set and the feature printed?  Please?

Wow!!  We contacted the de Valence Pavilion here in Tenby to see if we could afford to hire a bigger venue for our Rock Gig.  Spoke to a cracking lady called Claire Porter - just to see if it would be viable for us.  The original idea was to use the facilities that the Tenby Sailing Club had kindly offered - our concern was that as the Gig will be our major fundraiser, space and therefore the number of tickets we could sell would be limited. Graham and myself met up with Claire and her colleagues the following morning at the de Valance and were completely over-whelmed at the massive enthusiasm they all showed towards our ideas and efforts.  It would be remiss to go into the "financial arrangements" but the bottom line is that it now looks as though our concert will be in the main hall at the de Valence and that can hold up to 700 people and a mega challenge and opportunity for us to sell more tickets and raise more money towards our target

All being well, date is Saturday 26 April - tickets will be priced at £10.00 and will be available to buy online at this website or direct from the online booking office at the de Valence - very soon

We have 3 bands now lined up and are working on surprise guests - one of whom "could be" similar to a drummer seen over Xmas on the TV playing the drums in a gorilla suit !!! And it won't be me as they don't make gorilla suits that BIG!!! Click here for a sneak preview
